Under certain circumstances, students whose undergraduate degree is not in music but have an extensive musical background may apply, with the approval of the director. Level I courses are prerequisites for Level II courses. Level II courses are prerequisites for Level III courses. Level I students who need an introduction to, or brush-up of, sight singing/ear training skills must take the Solfa Fundamentals course during Special Studies Week prior to taking Solfa I. There are no prerequisites for Solfa Fundamentals or Level IV courses. Course Numbers, Titles, and Credits SPECIAL STUDIES WEEK COURSE - 1 credit (July 7 - 11):
This course is required for students whose scores on the Solfa Skills Assessment Test indicate the need for a prep course before entering Solfa I. Others are welcome to enroll on an optional basis.
